TDVAM21 Recap

In recognition of National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, WomenShelter of Long Beach hosted its fourth annual Building Healthy Relationships youth conference Virtual event on Saturday, February 20, 2021 virtually via zoom. Nearly 73 high school students, college students, adult caregivers, and service providers attended this year’s conference!

The goals of the conference were to create a safe space for youth and adults to have open, honest conversations, and to promote healthy relationships between parents and youth. WSLB invited the community to participate in effort to enhance knowledge regarding teen dating violence; the dynamics of abuse with an interactive performance by interACT, advocacy, and discuss how teen dating violence can have an impact on a youth’s mental health presentation by Laura’s House.

“Absolutely loved the conference! It is so interesting and helpful to learn about teen dating violence and how you can help yourself in that situation but as well helping friends who may be in this situation. Can't wait to come back for my third year!”
